Swimming in the sea makes you happy - beats dating!! Even if it's only 8 degrees (apparently)...at least Derwent Water at Keswick tri in 2 wks will seem warm - the briefing for last year's event had it at 13 degrees this time last year. Hard to relax in to swimming for longer yet though..tried today, but really tiring..coldness seems to take more breath...or maybe it's just as it's hard to breathe out?
Ended up running twice today - a short one before the swim and a longer one this evening, as a friend rang..
Need to do some longer bikes..will take getting on for 2 hrs at Keswick - 23 miles - haven't been on road bike for anywhere near that long. Hopefully tomorrow will be as lovely as today, as going to go out earlyish for couple of hrs on bike, then do a cinema trip with kids and hopefully still have time to study later on - just have to hope the snooker final on TV is boring..
Sat 2nd May 09
run - 25mins, gentle, but undulating - Sugar Sands - around Howick Hall woods a bit (bluebells are out), and back...
sea swim - about 30 mins? Out (not too far) and back twice - 2nd time back didn't stop - hard. Goggles ok today though, unlike Wed when they hurt, and leaked. Very calm.
run - 50 mins - Alnwick South beach - Warkworth main gap, back along low dune path to gully, then beach. Felt sluggish, apart from last 10 mins. Beautiful evening, very still.
