Can't believe Xmas is almost here! Problem is that means our tri club social coastal run (- same 14 mile route as the official summer event voted best run, in Runners World mag..but ending up in Red Lion in Alnmouth for soup) is only 2.5 weeks away...and I've only run twice in the last couple of months. That's quite alot of miles to build up to..I really want to make the whole distance for the first time (even though it'll mean being last by even more than usual!)(perhaps there'll be more room in the pub..?)..hopefully manageable as my basic fitness is much improved..did a 10 mile event last year - that's the furthest I've so far been - took 1hr, 45mins..av of 10.3 mins a mile..the run at Kielder took quite a bit longer - can't remember how long now (well over 2 hrs..)..that was shorter, but lots of steep up and bogs..umm - going to have to blitz running training over hols..
Thurs 18th December
Run - medium (bet 30 - 60 mins) - felt floppy after 20mins, effort to persuade myself to keep going. Beautiful clear day to be on Warkworth beach though. Had originally intended to do 60 - 90 mins, but Trying to write Xmas cards took longer than it should have!
