Ran on the beach this morning - wow, what a beautiful morning - ice on the beach, clear blue sky, mist hovering over waves making them look all soft..I provoked a flock of oyster catchers into flight with high pitched squawks, and could hear the distinctive curlew cry somewhere nearby.
For those that might be reading not from around here, Alnmouth beach is on the English Northumbrian coast about 30 miles north of Newcastle, nearly up in Scotland - and is known for wide expanses of sandy beaches, and castles - and Northumbrian pipes (a small mellow bagpipe which I can play).
